Yesterday was SunGod! And boy was it a day! I went at approximately 2 PM and left at about 10 PM (I didn’t care much for the closing ACT of night.) I must capture the greatness I saw however.
While my suitemates woke up early (8 am) to get their wristbands, in a 4 hour line, I went at about 12 (roughly after class). By that point the line was smaller but still quite long, but I was lucky – for they started giving out wristbands in the back of the line (probably cause they realized the system was inefficient). Anyway by about 12:30 the line was gone anyway.
At SunGod, I took various photos of the acts. First I saw Augustana at 2 PM which were awesome! I thought they sounded great live, as opposed to Motion City Soundtrack…. which wasn’t so hot.

She said I think I’m going to Boston
I think I’ll start a new life
I think I’ll start it over,
Where no one knows my name
I’ll get out of California
I’m tired of weather
I think I’ll get a lover
and Fly her out to Spain
Oh, I think I’m going to Boston
I think I’ll retire
I think I need a new town
to leave this all behind
I think I need a sunrise
Cause I’m so sick and tired of sunset
Here it’s nice in the summer
Some snow would be nice

Damn the day that I forgot,
Came so close and I almost lost you,
But this isn’t the last time that I lost,
cause I still ain’t over you

Sara Bareilles was excellent as well, I think she really captured the crowd. I also saw Kappa Modern, who wasn’t bad – a comedy act that was semi funny yet really stupid at the same time. Dancing part were lame. There were drunk people everywhere – marijuana, and people making and lots of public displays of affection. All in all, I’ll give the entire performance a C for effort.
I didn’t really like N.E.R.D., or Iron and Wind, or Grand Ole’ Party (never really heard of them). I also needed to pee really badly, so I left and went to and ERC office. There, I moved the pin on a bulletin board and a police walked in and freaked me out saying “Hey. I saw you move that pin. You’re under arrest. Put your hands on the wall”. I did so, scared, but he was just kidding. It looked so stupid in retrospect.
And that was SunGod. I’ll definitely attend nice year if there’s good acts.
