Conference Clerk Training #2

Today was my second training session for UCSD Conference Services. I got my training manual at last today. Training was a lot more fun, equally fun as last time. After a long string of powerpoint slides – including a training session on food safety (even though we don’t even have to deal with food), we got lunch! This time, it was Pizza, and Salad, which I must say wasn’t very good. Next, we got to play a combination of Battleship and Who wants to be a millionaire. Although I was able to hit two targets successfully, our team was unable to sink anything, so we ultimately lost as a result. It’s okay though, because we’re getting paid… for training… to play a game!

Next, we got to drive around cart in cart training. After not driving for nearly a year, it was very complicated, but I think I got the message. Unfortunately I sped up too quickly at a bump and almost crashed, but this time there was no driving instructor there to yell at me, so I was fine. All in all, it was an enriching experience, and I’m looking forward to working there this summer.

In other news, I have to meet up with my group for communications (20) tomorrow to do a “bullet-point” of violence performed articles, meet up with my group for communications (22) on Monday to finish editing our video for the class, and finally meet up with my group for communications (21) on Tuesday to finish our pre-production notebooks. I also have work as Environmental Safety, and Health Assistant on Monday from 10-2, and Wednesday from 10-4, not to mention night training for Conference Services on Wednesday from 5-8. All in all, it’s going to be a long week, and I must say, this week (10th week) will be even more stressful than the upcoming finals week. Until next time, I’m out.
