Abraham Maslow derived a psychological, fundamentally simple pyramid in assessing human motivation and their growth in personal development. His formula essentially amounts to a triangle-shaped pyramid otherwise known as Maslow’s hierarchy of needs.

As you go up and up the hierarchy, you achieve a higher and higher level of fulfillment in life, and in attaining personal growth. From having basic physical needs like air, food, sleep to having Safety needs protection law, and stability – you evolve into having love and belonging, and higher self esteem – and finally the highest level, self-actualization.
In terms of where I would position myself on the pyramid I would place it directly in between love and belonging and esteem needs. Despite being a turbulent amount of years, I feel as though I’ve made enough friends and developed a good relationship with them to establish it as a decent relationship… However, my self esteem could always use a little boost – I always could be a little more confident. I will try my best to attain this year through personal growth by any means possible. In achieving a higher level of self esteem, I will then try to attain the best prize one can attain in life – self-actualization. In terms of the achievement I will try to pursue, I will always stick to my own moral values, always be myself, and always try to live up to the standards I set forth myself to attain. Regardless of how long this takes, I will keep working to become a better person – working my way up the pyramid to achieve personal growth to not only benefit myself, but to benefit the rest of society as a whole. That way, I can truly be a happier, more self-sufficient, and ultimately fulfilled person. – SELF-ACTUALIZATION is the ends. Everything else I do this year is the means.
