Comic Con 2010

This weekend I went to Comic Con 2010 (Saturday & Sunday).

I saw a vast array of things. But before I bore you all with the details, let’s examine some pictures!

So, what exactly was the convention about? Well, on the first floor half of the booths were Comic book related, the others were just “entertainment”. My favorite booths were the FOX booth, and the Nickelodeon Booth (which constantly continued playing The Last Airbender trailer). I never got my FOX poster holder, so that was unfortunate, but it’s okay I guess. 🙁

Here’s an overview of what I did.

Saturday

10:00-1:30 –> I believe we just wandered around, took pictures, got free stuff, etc. We tried volunteering, but they said “they were full” for the day, and we should just have fun for the day. So it was all free and chill!

1:30-3:00 –> We ate food! I got hot dot on a stick. LOLS. It was at some plaza near the place. Did I mention that Comic Con was jam-packed? It felt like black friday all over again.

3:00-4:00 –> We went upstairs to see what was going on. There were some pictures, and some other things of little interest to me. That included autograph signings of people I’ve never actually heard of us.

4:00-5:00 –> No Ordinary Family screening! We saw the pilot for free. It was actually a pretty good show, but I’d feel pretty bad promoting it for ABC. They gave us a free t-shirt which we redeemed at the “Fullfimment Room”.

5:00-6:00 –> Nikita screening! We saw the pilot for Nikita. It was… okay. I wouldn’t saw it was great. But George Mason from 24 Day1-2 Was on it!, and it kind of resembled CTU in a slight way.

6:00-6:30 –> Human Target panel. They showed a clip reel and had people. It was relatively boring, until someone asked “If your character was liked by a guy, how would you react” question was brought up. Funny.

END DAY 1. + Phil’s for dinner.

Sunday

10:00 – We checked in and realized our volunteering would start at 2:30.

10:30-11:00 – We walked around to ensure we got the maximum free stuff as possible.

11:30-2:30 – We lined up for the Glee Panel. It was a 1.5 hour wait! Fortunately we made it in time for the American Dad Panel right before, which was pretty funny episode, but relatively crude. Then the Glee panel came up. Unfortunately Lea Michele did not make a surprise appearance. Hopefully she comes next year though! So who came? Ryan Murphy, Kurt, Mercedes, Tina, Artie, Santana, and Brittany. They also gave away a ton of spoilers for next season (Tina & Mike?, Mercedes & Kurt go to church?, Britney Spears episode?, etc. etc.). It was so fun. Plus we got free foam fingers for going!.

2:30-3:30 – We had to leave and get out in time to volunteer. But we redeemed our foam fingers at the fullfillment room, and were an hour late for volunteering. For the sake of stuff, we didn’t want to get black-listed for next year, so we told them we were an hour late. They didn’t seem to care though.

3:30-4:00 – We waited for something to do – for people to come get us.

4:00-5:30 – Finally we went to the fullfillment room and started passing out, as our duties, “Cowboys & Aliens” t-shirts. It was pretty chill and funny how desperate certain people were for the shirts. (PLEASE, my daughter really wants one… and I’ll give you 5 dollars). It was pretty funny though. And then we got volunteer shirts for helping out (Unfortunately they were all extra large by then 🙁 ).

So in the end, everything was fun. We accomplished all that we set out to do, or that I set out to do. Watch the Glee Panel and get free Stuff. Until next year, Comic con is done!
