I expected my day to start in Orange County (Garden Grove) and officially end in San Diego (La Jolla). Instead, I spent the entire day in Orange County at home. Thus the choice was easy for my Project 365 Picture of the day- I spent a majority of my day at home, and thus it only made sense to include a picture of my house, in the rain.
Speaking of the rain, it was raining quite tumultuously today. Of course, we all must take a lesson from Luke Bryan in stressing that “Rain makes corn. Corn makes whiskey. Whiskey makes my baby feel a little frisky”. One might know if one looked at my December 2010 Calendar that the weather in Garden Grove has been a little more wet than usual. In fact, 1/2 of my break had rain come down on what was otherwise supposed to be a sunny day. Remember, rain is a good thing, but today, snow wasn’t. Regardless of the weather, the day was quite slow in terms of action.
I made a conscious decision to stay inside the house today, simply because I went out all week and didn’t want to leave my parents all alone. They went shopping and brought home Pho for me to eat. It was quite delicious. To-go Pho doesn’t taste as good as Dine-In Pho for obvious reasons, but if one heats it up it ends up tasting halfway decent. [Better than Pho La Jolla by a mile at least]. Anyway, I spent a couple of hours chilling at home, listening to music and watching Youtube Videos – including the wonderful Script video “For the First Time”. (a must see!)
Later my two nieces came over unexpectedly. My sisters has a tendency to bring them over at random moments and just abandon them at my house so she doesn’t have to take care of them. Sometimes it annoys me, but at other times I am okay with it. In today’s case, I just watched Glee with my niece Tracy (11 years old) and Tammy and that was quite enjoyable for a while. My sister finally returned from shopping and subsequently Costco pizza was rewarded to me for my patience.
After they went home, my friends Earle, Theresa, and Tim came over and we chilled for roughly 2 hours. While Theresa was borrowing my music for her Ipod listening purposes, Earle was giving me his camera in order for me to be able to faithfully carry out the 365 project. We then watched some videos, looked at some pictures, and took some crazy pictures of my house in the rain. [For today’s pic ]. Then they left. I was hoping for them to take the rain with them, but instead it only got harder as they departed farther and farther away.
I patiently awaited Lauren as she drove from Sacramento all the way to my house all day in an effort to pick me up. She was supposed to arrive at around 6 or 7 pm to pick me up. Unfortunately for her, the Grapevine shut down and she was stuck in traffic virtually all day. By the rate she’s going I will remain in Orange County by midnight tonight. But, regardless of when she arrives tomorrow (around 6-8 AM), I am confident that I will have an enjoyable drive back to San Diego. Lauren’s one of those people I find particularly easy to talk to and subsequently she’s one of my closet friends. Tomorrow will definitely bring to Project 365 a location change as my adventures from here on out (till at least Spring Break/April) will occur in San Diego.

Today, President Barack Obama signed the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act, more informally known as the “9/11 Health Care Bill”, which provides health coverage to the workers who cleared the rubble of Ground Zero on September 11th, 2001. I kind of support what the bill is trying to accomplish – regardless of however many earmarks might be secretly hidden in the bill. But, as a supporter of decreased government intervention, I can see how some can have some clear objections to this bill. |

On January 2nd, 1960 a 42 year old senator announced his campaign for the presidency of the United States of America. His name was John F. Kennedy. Though he was a Democrat, John F. Kennedy ranks high on my personal list of presidents for a variety of reasons which include: His Handling of the Cuban Missile Crisis in order to avoid atomic warfare with the Soviet Union, A supporter of low taxes, & he was against social welfare and reliance on the government to solve poverty. John F. Kennedy, by today’s standards would be a moderate, not a Democrat. “My fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you — ask what can you do for your country.” |
P.S.: You can take up all my time cause you’re the only one. That can make a storm cloud break, pulling out the sun. And I can’t get caught in the rain. Can I get your lips to speak my name?
