Day 17: Laundry Day!

January 17th 2011

Because this was a three-day weekend, today was technically my “Sunday” of the week. It was a day full of R&R (rest and relaxation), among other things.

I played Scrabble with Lauren and Amul yet again until 2 AM. Then, in the morning, I spent a majority of the day typing up notes and reading for my classes (catching up as swiftly and as best I could). Intertwined in the day was doing my laundry (which I hate doing, because a machine always doesn’t work when I use it), and playing Super Mario on the NES with Amul. I also ate at CV today – something I hope to do only once a week (because I prefer Pines, Goodies, and of course Foodworx).

The PAW Meeting was late at 9 PM, with only a few people showing up. Immediately after I won another game of Scrabble with Amul & Lauren. VICTORY! VICTORY! VICTORY! By the end of the day, my laundry was clean, and I was ready to start the 4-day schoolweek.

The House of Representatives is set to vote on a repeal of President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul this week, fulfilling a campaign promise of congressional Republicans and setting up a clash with the White House and Senate Democrats.
House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, has scheduled a floor debate on the measure for Tuesday and a vote on Wednesday. The new GOP majority, in keeping with its “repeal and replace” mantra, will instruct various House committees to craft alternatives to the law. Awesome.
On January 17th, 1949, The first Volkswagen Beetle ( The Peoples Car ) in the U.S. arrived from Germany, designed by Ferdinand Porsche at the request of Adolf Hitler. THANK YOU HITLER FOR PROMOTING VIOLENCE. First you slaughter a bunch of Jews :(. Then you make us all play hitting games everytime we see a car. SIGH.

P.S.: Of the last good scene, a film that changes things. Breaks us, makes us sing, leaves us wondering.
