Today was a “Work” day. And I don’t mean that in merely the sense that I went to Work, although that is my picure of the day. Essentially “Facebook” is constantly opened at my workplace on my computer screen regardless of whatever work I happen to be doing. But back to the original point, which was that today was full of 5 levels of work.
The first one was actual work. At Environment, Health, and Safety today I scanned a few documents while simultaneously chatting on Meebo and Facebook. And, and it doesn’t hurt that I have a view from the fourth floor giving me access to spy on SIXTH residence halls.
Then, social work. I went to Pines to talk to and hash out stories with Brittney and Leah. Shortly thereafter I went with Leah to the library, where we semi-studied. After, she left, I started doing my “home” work which required me to start studying for my Ancient Greece quiz that just so happens to be tomorrow. Before my only class of the day, I went to a UCSD Cares meeting – which I would ultimately label as Club Work. (I was surprised to see Megan from ICRA there!) It was a really well-organized and I was so impressed that I signed up to head a commitee – particularly that of Marketing for the organization.
After class I got some pazookie’s at Lauren Swan’s place with Amul and Matt Diamond, and after Sandy dropped off Glee, I finished studying for my quiz and homework.
I should also mention, the 5th level of work occured this morning – at midnight – 3 AM, which I consider psychological work – in dealing with writing a California Review article, and aspects of what to organize into PAW’s Valentine’s Day Event, and essentially having to divvy up my time evenly throughout the rest of the weekend. I’m used to a “doing everything at once”, type of guy, so the fact that I had so much to do (see my list from yesterday) kind of overwhelmed me.I think I dealt with it effectively though.
| The “American Idol” Season 10 premiere was down slightly from the Season 9 premiere, but the show still dominated Wednesday night programming. The introduction of new judges Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez was good for an average of 26.1 million viewers, a 14.1 rating/22 share of households and a 9.7 rating in the 18-49 demographic. I still need to watch the episode from both tonight and yesterday, but clearly, Idol’s still a major juggernaut – especially with everyone flocking to cable and the Internet now for their main source of entertainment. | ![]() |

On January 20th, 1920, Prohibition takes effect stopping the sale and consumption of alcohol when the 18th Amendment went into effect it ended in 1933. Although prohibition sounds a good “progressive” step in advancing society, it was essentially deemed a failure. People are going to do things, regardless of whether it’s legal or not. It’s a shame now that the War on Drugs is repeating that same mistake, but simultaneously it’s a shame that people would subject themselves to drugs in the first place. Shame on them. |
P.S.: And who do you think you are, running ’round leaving scars? Collecting your jar of hearts and tearing love apart. You’re going to catch a cold, from the ice inside your soul.
