Day 34: Happy Fobby New Year!

February 3rd, 2011

Today was LONG to say the least, and Asian to say the most. I realize that many people might consider the title of my blog entry today to be slightly offensive to people – but when have I ever cared about being politically correct?!

I woke up at 8 and went to the ICRA office to await the locksmith’s coming to unlock the ICRA closet that I accidentaly locked. Geetha visited me before her class, and when the locksmith finally came all he did was pull out a key and open the closet. I was hoping for a little bit more excitement (which would include drilling and destruction of the door knob in symbolism of the destruction of ICRA altogether). Shrug. I still wondered why the hell we don’t have the key for the closet. Oh well. After that, I went to work and worked for a bit. Something slightly of interest might be that one of my co-workers took me to fill up a car with gas at the car’s very own fleet services (which has its own gas station). It took many passwords and typing the mileage to get the gas, so don’t even think about stealing any, foolz! My first time filling up gas 😀

After work, I went to get lunch at Pines with Alexis, and we confirmed plans for tomorrow night with Leandro, Howard, & John Torres. Immediately after I went to Cliques and class with Geetha, which was BULLCRAP. Who cares about lesbians and rape?! JK, I guess it was interesting, the but the professor was pretty much a jerk, calling out 2 girls that were talking in class. Shame on them, I suppose? It’s pretty comedic the distinct amount of personalities that are in that class. Simply put, I’m not going back there anytime soon. After that we went to study for a bit in the ICRA office, and then ate at Pines for dinner. Two meals at Pines in day = win! Anything to get away from the Fail that is Canyon Vista. I then went to my actual class, which pretty much put me to sleep, due to the fact that the professor is so monotonous and due to the fact that I woke up at 8 AM.

After class I went to PAW’s Lunar New Year Event (named that way to be politically correct because more than just Chinese people celebrate it). FAIL. It was at Warren SAC, my picture of the day, decorated in time for Spirit Night Saturday, which I am attending now…. More FAIL was that fact that really only 8-10 unique members came. Hopefully my Valentine’s Day event doesn’t crash and burn like that….. We’ll see next week. At PAW when I was there in attendance was Amul, Lauren, Shirley, Kunal, Julia, Amy, Jasmine, Rosario, and Kaslow. FAIL. Anyway, the night ended with me going to Earl’s, doing a psychological ADD experiment with Lauren, and then just chatting the night away. Happy Year of the Rabbit/Cat, Asians :).

The annual Conservative Political Action Conference later this month will as usual feature a slate of Republican presidential hopefuls. But the news just may be who isn’t there. Citing scheduling conflicts, Sarah Palin has declined to serve as the keynote speaker at the annual conference that has become a who’s who of social conservatives and politicians seeking to curry favor with that influential wing of the GOP. GOOD, we don’t want you there!
On February 3rd, 1959, Rock ‘n’ Roll singers Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and J.P. Richardson ( The Big Bopper ) died in a plane crash today along with the pilot when their chartered plane went down near Mason City, Iowa. The deaths are immortalized in the “The Day the Music Died” by Don McLean. AKA, the best song ever! “BYE BYE MS. AMERICAN PIE. DROVE THE CHEVY TO THE LEVEE BUT THE LEVEE WAS DRY. THEM GOOD OLD BOYS WERE DRINKING WHISKEY AND RYE, SINGING THIS’LL BE THE DAY THAT I DIE.

P.S.: “All mankind is divided into three classes: those that are immovable, those that are movable, and those that move.” – Benjamin Franklin.
