Is this the start of a traditional Wednesday? I certainly hope so, but only time can tell. I woke today, did P90x happily, and then headed straight to work. While at work I shredded some stuff and scanned some stuff for one of my co-workers, highly anticipating the start of a new tradition: PHIL’S. I would meet up with Sandy at Che Cafe (I got lost along the way), as well as one of her friends Pablo, as we descended towards Point Loma. We picked up Bee-John who couldn’t find Che Cafe (which is understandable), but also couldn’t find Center Hall (he confused it with Pepper Canyon). Sad times + FAIL. Inevitably, we arrived at Phil’s where there was NO LINE, I snapped a picture, and we met with Sandy’s politician friend Kevin. He was nice, and quite a character as Sandy claimed. We ate our delicious meals, Pablo couldn’t finish, BeeJohn ate a sandwich, and of course I finished. It was delicious and wonderful! It was fun to be in the car witnessing Sandy’s crazy stunts while driving which included changing lanes without signaling, pulling in and out of a parking lot both ways, saying hi to random strangers, as well as asking a stranger for directions to UCSD even though she already knew where it was. FUNNY. He got so pissed. But Phil’s tradition would be fun every Wednesday except for two concerns: money $$$$ & the massive food coma that comes as a direct result of said trip.
Afterwards, Sandy dropped me off as I headed straight to the Sustainability Center for my interview. Unfortunately, the person wasn’t there, so I emailed her to ultimately reschedule. I headed straight on over to the Guardian office though to take my picture for A.S., and inevitably did at the SunGod Statue (some photographer named John took my picture). When I was done, I headed straight to Geisel to get my Inter-Library Loan books as well as complete one of the practice quizzes for my class. While there I saw Mayly, whose backpack zipper wasn’t working, but I failed at assisting her in fixing it. I also saw Marie Lea, and eventually Geetha, whom I eventully left with as we headed to Rashika’s place to get MY ICRA KEY BACK. On the way I tried to get water at Goodies but it had a blackout. FAIL. Especially since I felt really tired cause of my massive food coma. Me & Geetha tried to go into the ICRA office to make posters but unfortunately for us there was a Blood Bash meeting, so we just spent time hanging out at Geetha’s place for a bit, before ultimately going to Pines to grab dinner with BeeJohn and Amul. It wasn’t that great, but Phil’s had already sealed my stomach for the day anyway. Afterwards was the ICRA meeting, which was short and sweet – with the Disneyland Committee full swing away consumed with me, Lauren, Rashika, Geetha, Marie Lea, Hieu, Claudia, and Christine. After it was over, me, Matt, Lauren, Amul, & Geetha walked down the hill (Alex wasn’t there so she couldn’t drive us back), and Lauren and Amul and I would go into Earl’s to get “snacks”. As the night ended, so did the Wednesday tradition. Maybe Phil’s next week, but definitely an NRHH meeting will happen next week (cancelled this week due to Lauren Lagano’s sickness). I spent the remainder of the night doing homework, surfing the web, and watching American Idol. By the way, Shawshank Redemption was good, depressing, but not deserving of number 1 on IMDB at all.

| On March 30th, 1981, President Ronald Reagan was shot at close range as he left the Washington Hilton Hotel just about one mile from the White House . The attacker John Hinckley, the son of an affluent oil industry executive, was charged with trying to assassinate the president and in the following June, Hinckley was found not guilty by reason of insanity and was committed to hospital. Good thing the asshole failed! 🙂 |

| Warren Buffett’s $9 billion takeover of Lubrizol Corp. (LZ) is scheduled to reward Chief Executive Officer James Hambrick with about $97 million in cash tied to his equity-based compensation. Hambrick, 56, may receive cash payments of about $73 million on his stock options and about $24 million on his so- called performance-share units, Lubrizol said in a March 25 regulatory filing. Hambrick, who also serves as chairman, accepted the $135-a-share acquisition from Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (BRK/A) this month. WOW. |
