OMG, it’s HelloGoodbye! Seeing them live today reminded me of my Senior Year of high school, where they came to perform for free at Huntington Beach. Good stuff 😉

Today, I went to work at EH&S, talked to John Cuellar & Katherine for a bit, before heading to SRC to work some more. Mandy, Sylvia, and I discussed potential name for Wednesday “casual sessions”, but never came up with anything too enticing. Geetha brought me Panda Express, because at this point I was extremely malnourished. After seeing the editing of a powerpoint for hours, we all headed on over to the Loft for both the Green Networking Event, and the Sustainability Awards. It was cool because I got to sit in the backroom, behind the scenes, and press the computer buttons to make the powerpoint slides change behind everyone’s backs. POWER! This required paying attention, and strategic manuevering of the changing of slides. Good stuff! Afterwards, I headed over to Geetha’s to chill for a bit, before going to Phil’s with Nick, Sheila, & Nick’s high school friend (also named John). The line was only about 35 minutes, as we went in and out, and got delicious ribs. YUM! We talkd about a vast array of topics and even played the ever so popular Friday song in the car to honor the day. When all was done, I met up with Geetha and Rashika at library walk to go to MuirStock.

At Muirstock I didn’t really like the act before HelloGoodbye, and scooted up closer with Amul, Alex, and Matt. Unfortunately we all got shuffled up when HelloGoodbye started performing as everyone suddenly stood up and moved closer to the stage. I got somewhere closer to the front than everyone else fortunately. I ultimately snapped a picture. They were excellent live – I knew all the songs because I pre-gamed both of their albums before the concert. That was a smart move on my part. Fortunately for me, I also witnessed a love triangle unfolding right in front of me. A fat Asian guy helped this drunk white girl go the bathroom so she wouldn’t get lost. When they came back, the white girl was all over this white guy in front of me. Sadly enough, the asian guy kept tapping the white girl on the shoulder to make conversation, but she didn’t seem interested at all. I could tell he liked her though. SIGH! Nice guys finish last I guess, considering the white guy was being an asshole to her the whole time. Fun Stuff. Anyway, of course HelloGoodbye performed “Here in your arms” last. That was obvious.

Afterwards, as we all walked back, me, Geetha, & Bee-John headed to Let’s Bounce. We first went to Price Center Plaza where the music was all lame electronic music. I subsequently bumped into Alexis, Brittney, and inevitably Alec Weisman. We lined up for about 40 minutes to get into the inner danceroom, but that was lame too, because they weren’t playing Top40 music, which is about the only thing I can dance to. I hate dances! By the time we left, I got Tapioca Express, now that it was past midnight and LENT WAS OVER. YAY. It was so delicious – that rush of sugar made me super excited for the rest of the night, as I watched 24 & Degrassi with Geetha the rest of the night!

As technical problems interrupted computer services provided by Amazon for a second day on Friday, industry analysts said the troubles would prompt many companies to reconsider relying on remote computers beyond their control. The Foursquare Web site, as well as some other sites using Amazon Web Services, have had problems in the last two days. “This is a wake-up call for cloud computing,” said Matthew Eastwood, an analyst for the research firm IDC, using the term for accessing services and information in big data centers remotely over the Internet from anywhere, as if the services were in a cloud. “It will force a conversation in the industry.” FAIL

One Comment

  1. They were good live. And no one really cares about the dance music. Most of the time, 80% of the people are buzzed/drunk/high, basically just there to dance no matter the music.
