Day 132: The Day Before SunGod

May 12th, 2011

Today is completely overshadowed by the events of tomorrow that its title is simply “the day before…”. Still, it was jam-packed and very blog-worthy. After going to class, I went to Student Health Services with Jessica and Henry to attain TB result records. After failing because they were closed, I went to Pines to eat with Jessica, and subsequently Sheng, and subsequently Adam. It was a short-lived conversation because I had to rush back to SHS to get my finalized TB results. While there, I bumped into Pam, and we had a rather interesting conversation that somehow stretched to an hour. Time flies when you’re having fun? Shrug.

I then went to Lit, class went out 20 minutes early, so I went to EHS to fax my timesheet, which means I don’t have to go into work tomorrow! WIN! Also, SRC emailed me and told me I didn’t have to go in because it’s SunGod! DOUBLE WIN! Which equates to a completely free day tomorrow, because I have absolutely no classes. YAY. The events of the day continued as I took a quiz in history class, and then proceeded to the ICRA office to pick up supplies for ICRA’s Price is Right event. I got a bunch of things, including leftover soda, which I lugged on up to the Village in a shopping cart. I bumped into Yammi and we had a rather interesting conversation on way. At ICRA set up was: Bee-John, Charlene, Alex, Yammi, Geetha, and Cindy. We set up the food, the tables, and everything else for the event. I left shortly for class, before coming back to DJ for the night. I put on some amazing Wiz Khalifa and Jimmy Eat World videos, while chillaxing with the ICRA & Non-ICRA people there including: Windi, Bee-John, Cindy, Yammi,T.Saw, Robbie, & Ryan. I left to go the PAW event (Rambling Gambling SunGod Mania) where I played poker, winning quite a bit of chips, and taking a picture of the American style chips while there. If I was eligible to win the grand prize, I probably would have through trying, but I gave up halfway and distributed my chips evenly. Geetha got third place and subsequently a poker set. Paw members there including Alex, Amul, Kunal, Julia, Lauren, Tyler, Jake, Katie, Amy, Rosario, & Sid. Non-ICRA people included Vaibhav, Geetha, Rashika (who nicely delivered me pizza), & Bee-John. The raffle then occured, where I won a lame V-neck T-shirt. I traded it with Geetha for the poker set, ultimately profiting in about 20 dollars worth of prize money. After clean up, I went with the ICRA clique to Earl’s to grab some soy milk, before going back to my place to play Monopoly. I sadly lost. >:(. First one out actually, right before Rashika. Bee-John triumphed. Then we played Loaded Questions with Geetha, Rashika, BeeJohn, Amul, Kunal and Sasha. When Kunal and Sasha left, we gave up and talked about various events, including the evils of concoction. Then me, Geetha, and Rashika watched some 24. And that’s the end of that.

History
On May 12th, 1949, After blocking all road traffic into West Berlin for 11 months after diplomatic meetings around the world the Soviet Union has lifted the blockade of road and rail links. The Blockade of West Berlin had been broken by a U.S. / British airlift of vital supplies to West Berlin’s two million citizens. YAY.
