My picture of the day illustrates what stood out today, but by no means was it the best moment of the night. I’d much rather be home watching Glee in fact, and subsequently my review of the ceremony will come by the end of this blog article. My day was a fairly standard one, with history class, Pines with Henry, going to work for an hour and talking to John Cuellar, going to literature, going to my other history class, eating Foodworx at Geetha’s apartment, going to my film studies class, and then going back to my apartment to change ultimately for the Rezzies. After the Rezzies, I went home to watch probably one of the saddest episodes of Glee in a long time (although it frankly wasn’t that good either). I ended the night studying.
Here’s my review of the Rezzies. Frankly, if it were up to me, I’d get rid of the whole thing. It’s super contrived and useless to give awards to people, especially when only people who get nominated get recognized. If you’re not nominated, too bad. :] I realize in my days with programming that it’s a tough task, but the people who love it aren’t doing it for an award of any sort – they’re doing it because they love it and personally are good at it. Awards don’t mean much subsequently. I walked in and sat with Geetha, Bee-John, and Rashika for a bit, but was upset when silenced several times. I wanted to take pictures, but no one else did. When intermission occured, I went to get some food… all dessert by the way. There, I bumped into Matt, Amul, Alex, & Lauren. I also saw Sandy and Johan, and we all took a picture together but seperately. I couldn’t see from the view I presently had at my table so I switched on over to the PAW table watching the ceremony with Adam, Cindy, Nicole, Alex, Lauren, and Amul. When it was my turn to present, me and Bee-John proudly went up, me being called “John 24 Tran”. Unfortunately the script we were supposed to read, which I made Bee-John read all of, was gramatically incorrect, and terrible. We ended up improvising and giving the award to Rashika for Harry Potter Night. And then after the ceremony everyone lagged around and took pictures. PAW picture + ICRA picture + ICRA clique picture. I guess when you dress up, you’re sort of required to take pictures… I was over it by that point, and ultimately left on my own.
