Day 155: Say Hello to my New Home!

June 4th, 2011

It’s one month before America’s birthday, and I’m awfully tired of saying goodbyes (SRC, ICRA, etc.). So now, it’s time to say hello to my new home… at LA REGENCIA. This morning, I loaded my stuff onto Lauren’s car as we went to Wells Fargo to get a Cashier’s Check. After failing at the Ralph’s Branch because it wasn’t open we proceeded to the one near UTC mall, and then immediately met up with Tyler, Manuel, and Tim at the apartment complex to sign our paperwork. Once done, it was time to explore. Boy, was I lucky. Everything was renovated, and everything is new. All the walls were white as I snapped a picture of the joyous occasion. Me and Lauren ended up unloading all my stuff into the apartment before departing for various stores. At Lowe’s we made copies of keys to distribute among our apartmentmates (myself included). At Ikea we looked around for appropriate furniture to buy. I ended up spending roughly $300 on a desk, a bookshelf, and ultimately a mattress. It was a hassle and yet fun to get all the supplies to fit into Lauren’s car (geometrically at least). We went to the Container Store afterwards to get some hangers. As we departed and made multiple trips from the basement parking garage to the apartment using our delicate hands, we saw Manuel inside study with one of his friends. We put all the stuff there before departing, to go eat. We went to Tofu House where we joyfully celebrated our official moving in. We went to the bookstore after for Lauren to buy a book, which she unfortunately did not find.

I ended up going back to my apartment after, and studying for hours upon hours. Inevitably it hit roughly around 12:30 AM, where I decided to meet Geetha at Price Center to study. She gave me delicious free crispy cream (700 calories according to Bee-John). We started studying at the computers, as I got Burger King with Bee-John and subsequently got distracted for 2 hours. The three of us messed around and didn’t realy get much studying done, but it was a fun way to end the day. Tomorrow: STUDY ALL DAY. No Distractions, Guaranteed!

History
On June 4th, 1989, nearly a million Chinese students and others held mass protests calling for greater democracy and an end to corruption at Tiananmen Square in the center of Beijing, but on June 4th Chinese troops with tanks and armored cars stormed Tiananmen Square killing hundreds of protesters when firing into the crowd indiscriminately and arresting thousands of pro democracy protesters some of who are still in jail. And thus where the picture comes from…

Think you’ve had enough? Big business after the financial shakeup of 2008 remains the same. You are the one who got shook up. The presidential candidates have started talking. None but one will help us slaughter the big business monster of the global financial catastrophe. Ron Paul is that one candidate, and globalized central banking is the big business monster. YES YES YES YES.

P.S.: Charmander
