Day 168: Super 8 Sausagefest

June 17th, 2011

Organizing a Super 8 Sausagefest today for a wonderful trip to the movies was rather easy. Having some girls come would be a much dauntier task (and subsequently a failed one). After staying at home and eating Pho cooked by my mom, as well as playing Tetris, Brian came over, and we talked for a bit, me having not seen him since January 1st. Earle eventually picked us up as we went to Carl’s Jr for a quick lunch. When Jonny and Andrew joined us, we headed on over to Dollar Tree to get cheap snacks for the movies. We headed to Regals cinema, where we met Triet, Thiep, and Vu to pay for our movie tickets to see Super 8. And, I didn’t do this on purpose, but if you counted correctly, there were 8 of us (all male). We all went in together to see what I consider one of the boringest movies of the year. The plot literally went nowhere unfortunately, and Rotten Tomatoes let me down. The sausagefest enjoyed its short-lived time as 8, as we eventually dwindled down to 7 after Jonathan Elizalde’s departure. The Super 7 went to see Green Lantern immediately after, and that was a relatively entertaining, but still not that great of a movie. Afterwards we chilled at Pizza Hut gourging our stomaches on the cheap PizzaMia pizzas. YUM? Afterwards, I went home, saying goodbye to my friends for what might be a very long time.

History
On June 17th, 1885, The French gift to the United States to mark the Centennial of the American Declaration of Independence From Great Britain “The Statue of Liberty” arrives in New York City aboard the French ship Isere. EH, it’s not that great. They can have it back.
News
Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney has more in common with the average voter than it may seem, or so he said during a campaign stop in Tampa, Florida Thursday. After listening to a group of unemployed Floridians discuss the challenges they face in the job market, the presidential hopeful -and multi-millionaire– cheekily divulged, “I am also unemployed.” EFF YOU MITT ROMNEY.

P.S.: NERD
