Day 183: New Sunglasses, New Me

July 2nd, 2011
Today was a fun filled day in La Jolla, La Regencia, and in the universe. In the morning Geetha and I went to Von’s in an effort to get milk. We then consumed cereal before I showered, and before me, Geetha, Lauren, Tyler, and Jenny watched four episodes of How I Met Your Mother. It’s a great show, and I’m super excited to see the wonderful six seasons of the show. I’m a fan of Neil Patrick Harris as well as Ted, who seems to be my type: a.k.a the type to chase after girls willingly and happily (and at the same time, failing). HEHE. That led to a rather smooth transition as Lauren, Geetha, and I picked up Rosario, and we proceeded to Kaiser Permanente (my first time in a hospital), as well as Fashion Valley. Kaiser was chill except I don’t like the smell of hospitals. We went to Fashion Valley, where we went to the following stores: H&M, Forever 21, Hollister, and Old Navy. I bought two polos at H&M and a nice America themed t-shirt for Fourth of July at Old Navy. JOY! I also bought sunglasses (one to replace Geetha’s, and a beautiful one of my old). I think I found a whole new look and a whole new me with the usage of these sunglasses. It’s funny though because I went with three girls shopping and I ended up the only one buying things: with Lauren and Rosario buying some Starbucks. We went home to chill and talk, before going to Island’s for dinner. Delicious, as usual. <24 the Malibu Burger. We went back to my place where I saw a ton of Tyler’s friends crashing my place and eating my Twinkies. It’s a good thing I don’t want them, but it would have been nice if they asked before they ate them. I met Arthur, and reunited with Hermano, spending a majority of my time chilling with Geetha, Lauren, and Rosario in Lauren’s room. I also showed Gail and Amanda my room chatting with them for a bit, before Tyler and his friends left. When that happened, Geetha, Lauren, Rosario, and I watched an episode of How I met your mother (the pilot yet again), talked for a bit, and then went to get gas before departing for Belmont Park.

It was an enjoyable time, as me, Lauren, Rosario, and Geetha all got exciting family fun packages allowing us to ultimately go into a mirror maze, a laser maze, a laser competition, 20 free tokens, mini golf (pirate adventures), and climb a jungle maze (which required confronting fear of heights). The mirror maze and laser maze were relatively entertaining, and I was definitely the worse at mini golf, but only me and Rosario ultimately confronted the fear of heights (because we wore closed toe shoes). I was literally shaking while I was suspended up in the air, but my new sunglasses gave me the ability to persevere and overcome my cowardice. In the arcade, me and Geetha came close to winning a height stacking game (one I’ve had experience with in the past at Pizza Hut), but we both ended up losing. Sad, Sad Times. I also accidentally hit Lauren in the face with a golf bat during minigolf. So Sad. We went home, and I had fun using the picture of me being eaten by a shark in minigolf. We went back, watched the pilot of Dexter, before I ultimately walked Geetha back to her place.

History
On July 2nd, 1964, U.S. President Lyndon B. Johnson signs into law the historic Civil Rights Act in a nationally televised ceremony at the White House. HOORAY ! 🙂
News
Mere days after two top staffers resigned from Herman Cain’s presidential campaign, two others have also called it quits. Tina Goff, the Iowa organizational director, confirms to CNN that she left the campaign on Friday. Goff also said that another Iowa staffer – Straw Poll coordinator Kevin Hart – resigned that day. The Cain campaign confirmed both developments. BAHAH FAIL.

P.S.: Plastic Bag
