It was now time for my next 3-hour class – COMT100 – Non-Linear Digital Editing. The professor seemed okay, but I kept dozing off in class from restlessness. Katie eventually offered me some gum to keep me awake as the professor explained slightly how to use Final Cut Pro and how to check out rooms to use for editing. It looks like I’m going to have a ton of fun in the computer lab this quarter. YEEEEE! By the end of the class I was pooped, went home and had a wonderful TeachforAmerica interview, and then met up with Bee-John afterwards for some delicious Chipotle. We missed a bus, and then decided not to get on the second one that came by because there wasn’t room for Bee-John’s bike. We ended up walking home as I ended the night prepping for tomorrow: Vietnamese. BOO!

| For the first time in U.S. history, a debate between major party presidential candidates is shown on television. The presidential hopefuls, John F. Kennedy, a Democratic senator of Massachusetts, and Richard M. Nixon, the vice president of the United States, met in a Chicago studio to discuss U.S. domestic matters. Kennedy emerged the apparent winner from this first of four televised debates, partly owing to his greater ease before the camera than Nixon, who, unlike Kennedy, seemed nervous and declined to wear makeup. Nixon fared better in the second and third debates, and on October 21 the candidates met to discuss foreign affairs in their fourth and final debate. Less than three weeks later, on November 8, Kennedy won 49.7 percent of the popular vote in one of the closest presidential elections in U.S. history, surpassing by a fraction the 49.6 percent received by his Republican opponent. | Despite his performances in the two most recent Republican presidential debates, a new national survey indicates that Texas Gov. Rick Perry remains on top of the field in the race for the GOP nomination. But a CNN/ORC International Poll also indicates that former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney does better than Perry in hypothetical 2012 general election matchups against President Barack Obama and matches evenly with the president on the issues and on personal characteristics.
