Day 291: The R[love]ution

October 18th, 2011
Today I went to Vietnamese class, dropped off some Ron Paul fliers at the Ron Paul table, went to work for a couple hours, and then visited Geetha at her place, before walking her to her class. I spent my leftover time subsequently hanging out at the UCSD Ron Paul table, before I left to hang up flyers all over campus… Little did I know it would rain that same night…. However, I was able to snap a beautiful picture of one of the areas in which I spammed UCSD campus. I ate a sandwich outside Geisel while awaiting Geetha’s arrival (my lunch). We went to Geisel for a bit with until I proceeded to video edit for a couple of hours. I then ended the night eating Tapioca Express at Geetha’s place while making some WTCC advertising guidelines.

History
On this day in 1867, the U.S. formally takes possession of Alaska after purchasing the territory from Russia for $7.2 million, or less than two cents an acre. The Alaska purchase comprised 586,412 square miles, about twice the size of Texas, and was championed by William Henry Seward, the enthusiasticly expansionist secretary of state under President Andrew Johnson.
