Day 304: Gleetha the Touchpad

October 31st, 2011
Over the last few days I have developed a close connection to my new best friend, Gleetha the friendly touchpad. It goes wherever I go, and I go wherever it goes, regardless of how fat it might be. (CASE SHIPPING SOON!). Today was Monday, quite clearly the busiest day of Fall Quarter. I went to COGN150, POLI113A, and then had lunch with Brittney and Howard. I ate Panda Express while interviewing Howard for the start of my project. I realized this project is going to allow me to get to talk to people I might not otherwise have the chance to… I went to COMT100 immediately after finding out that I received an Asian F on my first video project. BOO. I will try to upload the video online as soon as possible. I met up with Geetha at Geisel afterwards before eating some delicious Tapioca Express for dinner. Shame on me for eating out twice on one day though… I went to her place to relax for a bit, before picking up Amy from Pepper Canyon to began her interview. We settled on going to her apartment for the project, and while there I also interviewed Rosario and Angie about their respective childhoods. Sadly enough, the SD memory card doesn’t seem big enough to contain anything, so I’m going to have to bring my laptop to school tomorrow. YEEE. Gleetha the friendly touchpad came in handy as I played around with it both at Amy’s place and at home. I ended the night relaxed and prepared for tomorrow. Sadly, no Halloween activities today… GOODBYE OCTOBER.

History
On this day in 1517, the priest and scholar Martin Luther approaches the door of the Castle Church in Wittenberg, Germany, and nails a piece of paper to it containing the 95 revolutionary opinions that would begin the Protestant Reformation. In his theses, Luther condemned the excesses and corruption of the Roman Catholic Church, especially the papal practice of asking payment—called “indulgences”—for the forgiveness of sins. At the time, a Dominican priest named Johann Tetzel, commissioned by the Archbishop of Mainz and Pope Leo X, was in the midst of a major fundraising campaign in Germany to finance the renovation of St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome. Though Prince Frederick III the Wise had banned the sale of indulgences in Wittenberg, many church members traveled to purchase them. When they returned, they showed the pardons they had bought to Luther, claiming they no longer had to repent for their sins. OH HOW I LOVED LEARNING THIS CRAP IN EUROPEAN HISTORY.
News
Damian McGinty must have the luck of the Irish on his side, because he’s having the best year ever. After winning Oxygen’s “The Glee Project” this summer, McGinty, a 19-year-old from Northern Ireland, received a seven-episode guest starring arc on Fox’s musical comedy “Glee.” His debut episode, “Pot O’ Gold,” premieres on Tuesday at 8 p.m. EST on Fox. THIS IS CERTAINLY GOING TO BE INTERESTING….

P.S.:
PRETTY
