Day 325: Tyler’s 22nd

November 21st, 2011
A pretty standard Monday ended with the celebration of Tyler’s 22nd birthday. I went to COGN150 class in the morning, and then crashed Geetha’s place for a bit for hanging out purposes. We ate some more of her delicious pasta and picked up an even more delicious package before I ultimately departured for my next three-hour class – COMT100. Afterwards, I went to video edit for quite a few hours before meeting up with Geetha yet again at Gilman. We walked on over to TGIFriday’s where I bought Tyler a Cosmopolitan and celebrated with the remainder of his friends (in attendance I knew merely Julia, Rosario, Hermano, Jenny, Manuel, etc.). We snapped a cute apartment picture (above) as I ate some delicious buffalo wings and mozzarella sticks. I ordered an “adult” milkshake which barely tasted alcholic at all. It all went down smoothly in my stomach. I started some trends at the table in the form of: arm wrestling / thumb warring Tyler & requesting a check. Me and Geetha walked back to campus where I would end the night studying for Vietnamese and watching How I Met Your Mother (simultaneously)!

History
On this day in 1980, 350 million people around the world tune in to television’s popular primetime drama “Dallas” to find out who shot J.R. Ewing, the character fans loved to hate. J.R. had been shot on the season-ending episode the previous March 21, which now stands as one of television’s most famous cliffhangers. The plot twist inspired widespread media coverage and left America wondering “Who shot J.R.?” for the next eight months. The November 21 episode solved the mystery, identifying Kristin Shepard, J.R.’s wife’s sister and his former mistress, as the culprit. AWWW the good old days, when everyone was tied together by one show.
