Day 326: Hunger Headaches

November 22nd, 2011
I made the terrible mistake today of choosing not to eat, and saving my appetite for a later occasion. This only proved to be disappointing in the long run. I went to Vietnamese class in the morning, and then immediately went to work afterwards (providing myself with the ability to help Geetha pick up a package), and then video-editing for a couple more hours. Now, extremely hungry I prepared to wait for Bee-John at Geisel for ICRA’s Thanksgiving Dinner. He ran extremely late so I left without him, buying a can from the Sunshine Market. The food at the dinner was less than pleasing… the soup was decent, but the cold turkey was not at all what I envisioned. Perhaps I expected too much in the form of a) pumpkin pie and b) an actual turkey. I saw Louise there and we left to ultimately receive some free pumpkin pie at Warren. It was a super tiny slice so I went back to the Thanksgiving dinner where I met up with Bee-John and ultimately created (through arts and crafts), a wonderful turkey: pictured above. Afterwards, we went to Nikkei which was a terrible organization. I exaggerate, but it just wasn’t my thing: the whole idea of a bunch of people of one race gathering together just seems so stupid and racist to me. Some of the homemade videos they made were pretty entertaining. By the time I got out I was starving, and suffering from chronic headaches. I subsequently bused on over to Chipotle, ate extremely quickly, and then went home to finally relax, headaches ultimately gone forever.

History
John Fitzgerald Kennedy, the 35th president of the United States, is assassinated while traveling through Dallas, Texas, in an open-top convertible. First lady Jacqueline Kennedy rarely accompanied her husband on political outings, but she was beside him, along with Texas Governor John Connally and his wife, for a 10-mile motorcade through the streets of downtown Dallas on November 22. Sitting in a Lincoln convertible, the Kennedys and Connallys waved at the large and enthusiastic crowds gathered along the parade route. As their vehicle passed the Texas School Book Depository Building at 12:30 p.m., Lee Harvey Oswald allegedly fired three shots from the sixth floor, fatally wounding President Kennedy and seriously injuring Governor Connally. Kennedy was pronounced dead 30 minutes later at Dallas’ Parkland Hospital. He was 46. I blame the Fed.
