Day 347: New Hat, New Destination

December 13th, 2011
With the purchase of a new hat at Marshall’s today comes a new sense of warmth on my head. I literally could feel bubbles of warmth oozing from my veins to my head as I put on the blue Dodgers hat, a team I could care less about in the grand scheme of things. All I know is that in Iowa, my head will be protected against massive snow (if it happens, which I kind of hope it does). I went to work in the morning before surprising Geetha with various gifts from the bookstore, in the form of: a Snuggie, a coffee mug, and some holiday-flavored tea. We then spent a few hours doing laundry together before departing for my place. She would deliver her fish and plant to my place leaving them safety in my hands. She cooked some awfully delicious, yet spicy pasta, while I set up the T.V. for Breaking Bad viewing purposes. We watched an episode and then went to Ross not being able to find an appropriate looking hat. We then went to Marshall’s, where I purchased the magical hat talked about at the beginning of the post as pictured above for all viewers to see. We went back to Geetha’s place where we would eat frozen pizza, and also watch Glee, several episodes of Friends, and some Breaking Bad. The end!

History
Vice President Al Gore reluctantly concedes defeat to Texas Governor George W. Bush in his bid for the presidency, following weeks of legal battles over the recounting of votes in Florida, on this day in 2000. In a televised speech from his ceremonial office next to the White House, Gore said that while he was deeply disappointed and sharply disagreed with the Supreme Court verdict that ended his campaign, ”partisan rancor must now be put aside.” FAIL. Would he have been any different than Bush? Doubt it.
News
There has been some major movement in the Republican Presidential race in Iowa over the last week, with what was a 9 point lead for Newt Gingrich now all the way down to a single point. Gingrich is at 22% to 21% for Paul with Mitt Romney at 16%, Michele Bachmann at 11%, Rick Perry at 9%, Rick Santorum at 8%, Jon Huntsman at 5%, and Gary Johnson at 1%. He’s closing in and will ultimately win.

P.S.: Teachers
