Day 360: Photoshop Success

December 26th, 2011
My picture of the day helps to express the ability of me over the course of the year to perfect my Photoshop skills. Through 360 blog posts, it has come to this point: the picture of PERFECTION!

The morning started off decent as I starved a majority of the day in anticipation for Nam’s arrival. Nam, Annie, and I went to Cham Soot Gol, a Korean BBQ Restaurant, where we had pretty terrible service (in comparison to Star BBQ last week), which subsequently resulted in a lower overall tip for them. When we got home, we just did nothing for the remainder of the day, nothing entailing: playing some Zombie Fluxx, eventually eating dinner, and playing on Photoshop for a couple hours. My sister challenged me to photoshop two pictures, and to show off my abilities I subsequently photoshopped the modeling picture of us all yesterday moving our heads around, in combination with the image of all three of us as Pokemon (Charmander, Bulbasaur, and Squirtle). After I succeeded in doing so, Annie failed in photoshopping an image of us all into a bird. FAIL BLOG. Subsequently, the remainder of my last day in Garden Grove entailed watching some House on the television screen before I headed straight towards bed early. After all, by tomorrow night I will be in Iowa.

History
On December 26, 1946, in Las Vegas, Nevada, mobster Benjamin “Bugsy” Siegel opens The Pink Flamingo Hotel & Casino at a total cost of $6 million. The 40-acre facility wasn’t complete and Siegel was hoping to raise some revenue with the grand opening. Well-known singer and comedian Jimmy Durante headlined the entertainment, with music by Cuban band leader Xavier Cugat. Some of Siegel’s Hollywood friends, including actors George Raft, George Sanders, Sonny Tufts and George Jessel were in attendance. HRM DON’T KNOW IF I PLAN ON GOING THERE…
News
There’s a certain Taylor Swift ad for CoverGirl mascara that you won’t be seeing in American magazines any time soon. In the ad, for CoverGirl NatureLuxe Mousse Mascara, Ms. Swift’s eyelashes have been enhanced after the fact to look even fuller, and, as a result, the National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus ruled this month that it was misleading. Nothing wrong with that in my opinion….
