After losing Poker to Sid and Luke last night, the negative ramifications of alcohol consumption became clear this morning. Jordan eventually picked me, Austin, and Ryan up to go to some Mexican place – where I vomited both in the parking lot of the destination as well as on the way back. (I had to get Jordan to pull over on Villa la Jolla so I could continue throwing up). Being already in a depressed mood, my stomach started feeling pains as a subsequent result of a negative hangover. All 4 of us went to John Torres’ place to watch some football game while consuming our burritos. I ended up not eating at that present point opting out for a nap to help benefit my subsequent stomach. Eventually as people cycled out, and Brittney came in, the reunion was set.
I went to Howard’s room where we had such a nice conversation – one reminiscent of freshman and sophomore year. It was in that moment that I felt a deep sense of personal autonomy and nostalgia. As he laid on his bed I played on his computer and subsequently took a picture as we were talking.
I went back in the living room with Howard where all of us simply chilled like old times. Despite being depressed, it reminded me much of freshman year, and reminded me of how much I have grown since that past state. I snapped a picture before Leah’s ultimate arrival to flesh out the group.
As I sat in the living room I wish everyone was still there. Though people were not all present by the end (Austin and Ryan), I hope someday we can all reunite (that includes Victor and Alexis). We ended the night watching a Miss America pageant, where I joyfully rooted for Miss Oklahoma to win (because she reads the Declaration of Independence every 4th of July). Sadly, she only placed second. The night ended on a sour note as my stomach continued to recover.
