Based on a variety of factors, here are my top 10 movies of all time (from 10 to 1).

10. Shang Chi

Because we need more positive male representation in movies for Asian Americans.

9. Terminator 2

Great pace. I cared about absolutely everything that happened in this movie from point A to point Z. Although it was an action movie, every single scene was important and necessary to get from the beginning to the end.

8. Inception

Some say overrated, I say brilliant. (And Miles better than Shutter Island, btw).

7. Donnie Darko

I was, and still am, highly captivated by the ending of this movie. A must see for all Sci-Fi fans. (or fans of time travel in general).

6. Avengers Infinity War

A great culmination of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Nothing has really topped this since bringing all the characters together.

5. Toy Story 3

Because of the way I connected to the characters in the first two movies, seeing the third one while in college brought back both nostalgia and tears. I was immediately captivated by the ending of this movie, and still remain saddened just thinking about it. (Themes of childhood slipping away and growing up = sad).

4. Mrs. Doubtfire

Another instant classic. I LOVE Robin Williams. The scene of “Dude looks like a lady” is iconic in my eyes.

3. Aladdin

GREAT Movie. I remember me and my sisters taped this movie when I was younger, and subsequently, we rewatched it over and over again. The magic carpet ride is one of the best scenes in movie history (and no scene afterwards has surpassed it in sheer wonder and joy).

2. Memento

Points for originality. Points for the shocking ending. Points for Christopher Nolan being the greatest director of all time. A must see for everyone.

1. Home Alone 2

Because I loved Christmas movies. Because this was a childhood classic. Because this movie made me laugh. Because although the plot be not great, the movie stresses the value of family and love. Great lessons for everyone.

What do you think is the best movie, out of my top 10?

  1. Aladdin is my favorite movie EVER.

We should watch Donnie Darko sometime! It’s high on my need-to-watch list. I need to finish Memento too. And never seen the Graduate. Ugh, lets just watch all of them. Always down to rewatch back to the future, toy story (1 or 3), home alone, and I always watch Aladdin when I’m sick (:

  2. I agree with person above ^
Bring it On and Mean Girls are my two favorite. Oh and Pirate Radio

I like how your list is not the newest or flashiest movies, but are just overall good to watch.

  3. Back to the Future is my favorite out of this list. Epic story, music, environment, and of course the sci-fi aspect of time traveling. If you’ve ever played Ocarina of Time, who taught who the song of storms?
