Yesterday was by far the best day of 2012, because Ron Paul came to campus. About roughly 6,000 people crammed around Warren Mall to see him, as he continued spreading his message of liberty and limited government.

Elizabeth did a great job of introducing Ron Paul, and Ron Paul, as always, spoke with no teleprompter and no script: just genuine facts from the heart. He’s been preaching the same message for 30 years, so it’s not hard for him to remember ;D

This was the best picture I could find so far of the massive crowd:

None of this could have been possible without the help of the wonderful volunteers, and of course the leadership in UCSD Youth for Ron Paul: Elizabeth, Paul, Amy, & Chase (And of course Brandon, Brian, and Sam).

I talked to a ton of Ron Paul supporters who were all really nice as usual. One even allowed me to take a picture with their amazingly creative sign.

And of course, here’s video of everything in case you missed it:

By far, the best part of the night was the short moment where the core leadership got to meet and take a picture with the man himself. I shook his hand proudly and said “Thank you”.

This day will go down in history as one of the greatest moments not only in UCSD, but in my life. Thanks to hard work, we were all able to pull off a massively successful event. I’m almost certain nothing can top this in the remaining month and a half I am here.

THANKS TO: Ron Paul, Peter Anthony, Edward King, Elizabeth Goodrich, Paul Goodrich, Amy Locke, Chase Donnally, Brandon Millis, Brian Chaplur, Sam Bartleman, Angad, and all of the volunteers (Jonathan, Kara, Preecha, Justin, Eric, Adena,  Miranda, Tony, John,  Cody, Edward, Dominic, Zach, Alana, Alexsandra, Josh, Shawn, Neema, Nandhu, Kayla, Marina, Douglas, Scott, Mike, Sarin, Stephanie, Branden, Carolyn, Kelsey, Josh Silverman, & Tyler).

  1. This event was pretty big. Some hardcore ron paul guys were out in numbers, some with shirts that date back to his first one. I had to sit on a fence to see him speak. Another guy next to me had a climb a tree to see him. He was screaming “hell yeah ron paul” “good point, good point” “oh snap ron paul, you got them” “fuck yeah, ron paul”, etc. It was funny. Another ron paul supporter told me that he was going to buy the tree guy a beer. That was an interesting night for sure.
