#8: Glee Concert

After weeks and weeks of watching Glee, it was time to witness it live in person (at least the singing anyway) on May 29th. Earle, Thiep, and I originally all planned to go together. Despite this, Thiep bailed at the last minute, leaving me and Earle to scramble to find a replacement: we did so in the form of Tiana.

Before going to the concert, Tiana, Earle and I pre-gamed at none other than: Phil’s BBQ. As we waited in line, approximately a 2 hour wait, we were there at 5:30, worried we would be late to the concert that would start approximately at 7:30. At 6:50 PM, we got nervous still being in a very long line, so we went to the takeout line. The line was abnormally busy though, so waiting for our takeout order took until… 7:35 PM. We were late for the concert. I was so sad and disappointed at this point. We went to Earle’s car and quickly consumed the Phil’s as quickly as possible. When all was done it was 7:50. I had missed approximately 20 minutes of the concert. We rushed in, and realized the concert hadn’t even started yet. In fact, they were going to start late. GOOD FOR US, but I wished we knew in retrospect so we could enjoy and savor our Phil’s more.

The concert started at 8:30 and ended at 9:50, and it was AMAZING. My favorite was obviously Lea Michele while my favorite performances were “Don’t Stop Believing”, “Sing”, “Friday (Acoustic)”, Warblers Medley, Firework, Born This Way, and Somebody to Love. It was a night of pure bliss.

Months later, Lauren, Tyler and I would all see the same exact concert in theaters (back when we were all still friends). LOL, but that’s another story.
