The third day of Comic Con entailed roughly the same amount of walking as the prior two days, starting off with me and Earle getting ready at Michelle and Louise’s place, saying goodbye, and then consuming Grilled chicken and fruits at Ralph’s. We then proceeded to check in, which took surprisingly less than 5 minutes: obtaining the wonderful shift of Programming at 11:30. Since it was only 9AM and nothing was technically open yet, we proceeded upstairs to one of the Ballrooms to wait outside. I decided to attend some random ballroom which had a panel of authors talking about D.C. comics (they passed out a free comic book, and as soon as I received mine, I vamoosed out of there. I then went to the Exhibition Halls to try to win some free stuff at the FOX panel, but had to leave quickly to check into volunteering…..
We got the programming shift, which eventually delegated us to Room 6BCF, where we had the easy job of standing around and directing people to not exit through certain doors. As a subsequent result, we got to watch the Star Wars: Old Republic voice panel, as well as the D.C. Nation Beware the Batman and Teen Titans Go producers panel. It was definitely an entertaining three hours as we got to witness some panels we probably would have never gone to if it wasn’t assigned to us to go. The day ended shortly thereafter, with me going to the FOX Exhibition booth to wait roughly 45 minutes for a whole lot of posters (it was worth though cause I eventually bumped into Daniel Jenkins), and met a girl a line all the way from some Midwestern state. The end was near though, so – with our feet beyond exhausted, me and Earle bid Comic Con 2012 adieu.
Exciting Things to Note
– Kevin Smith hosted the D.C. Nation Panel
– I quoted it best when talking to strangers saying: “Comic Con is really more waiting in lines than anything else….”
– Sunday = Family Day????
– Less Volunteers and less people for sure on Sunday. Everything was winding down.
– When I opened up all my posters, I LOVEDDDD THE HUGE Hunger Games poster I received.
– I will definitely go back next year (if at all possible).
– My love for FOX was actually rekindled in seeing how huge the line was for receiving free stuff. The magic of seeing people receive basically a whole mess of advertisements showed the ability of FOX to effectively mass sell their product.
– I also saw The Supernatural people giving autographs at the Warner Brothers Table and appropriately took a picture.
