Week 35: Gratitude

Though it may not seem that way, I’m very grateful for everything I currently have in my life.

week35

Listed above are the day-to-day things I was grateful for in my life pursuits for the week. Of course, thinking on a more long-term level, the things I’m grateful for I’ve essentially worked towards since the beginning of my existence to achieve.

I’m grateful for my family. Regardless of all the gossip, all the drama, and all the chaos my family will always have my back in virtually all cases. I hope to get to know my siblings and parents better in the years to come.

I’m grateful for my girlfriend. I don’t say this enough, but finding someone to talk to about your day and somebody that attempts to understand you on a deep personal level while being truly “best friends” with them is a blessing. It’s only in their absence that you begin to be grateful for what you have.

I’m grateful for my friends. Through happy times, and more importantly through turbulent times, friends will always have you back. With a good arsenal at my disposal I hope to solidify the bonds of high school and collegiate friendships into adult and mature relationships.

I’m grateful for 1st world luxuries. The internet. Transportation. Food. Everything that essentially sets this nation apart from third world nation is truly something to be blessed about. In the future I hope through private charity to try to help as many people as possible with remedies.

Shallow things aside, I very much still agree with my list from many years past, outlining a short list of things I was grateful for. Click here to view it.

The End Result: I will continue to care and be grateful for the world around me. I hope to display it in future weeks. I give myself a B for the week.

For flowers that bloom about our feet;
          For song of bird and hum of bee;
For all things fair we hear or see,
          Father in heaven we thank Thee!
For blue of stream and blue of sky;
          For pleasant shade of branches high;
For fragrant air and cooling breeze;
          For beauty of the blooming trees;
Father in heaven we thank Thee!
          For mother love and father care,
For brothers strong and sisters fair;
          For love at home and here each day;
For guidance lest we go astray,
          Father in heaven we thank Thee!
For this new morning with its light;
          For rest and shelter of the night;
For health and food, for love and friends;
          For every thing His goodness sends,
Father in heaven we thank Thee!
