Day 2: Stop and Stare

Today’s song wields a double meaning: examining the lyrics more closely will reflect my attitudes on my desire to leave California at this present state in my life. At the same time I want to give my parents the opportunity to have experiences they deserve to have, like going on various vacations. Obviously taking them to Vegas and having them “stop and stare” at the sights around them was just a first step. As I acquire more funds maybe I’ll take them somewhere more exotic.

Aren’t I a master photographer?

Maybe I’ll take them to the actual Eiffel Tower one day.

No trip to the Strip is adequate without a Fat Tuesday. (Not to be confused with the terrible Drake song).

We also went to Brookstone’s at Planet Hollywood to rest our feet after being exhausted walking around the Strip.

With my parent’s approval I engaged in my first ever gambling (even since moving to Las Vegas). I only lost $7. I also learned my mom might have a gambling problem. AND THEN somehow towards the end of the night one of the casino dealers accidentally gave us the wrong chip, giving us a 100 dollar chip instead of a 20 dollar one. We’ll use it to go to the buffet tomorrow.

I’ve got my heart set on anywhere but here
I’m staring down myself, counting up the years
Steady hands, just take the wheel…
And every glance is killing me
Time to make one last appeal
For the life I lead
