For every bad seed, there’s about 4 kids that make it all the more worth it. Despite that, today was a pretty rough day in terms of keeping some disrespectful kids in check.
One of my top students walked into my class today complaining. “Some kids are so annoying. They jumped into the puddle and splashed it all over us.” Having encountered many of these middle school “animals” in the hallway and classroom myself, I reassured her “It’s okay, they’ll probably work for you one day”, to which she gave a smile.
It’s for these kids that I’ll continue the teaching profession, at least for a couple of years. The misbehaving “animals” on the other hand repulse me to the point where I question if I want to do this the rest of my life. It makes me think I could easily be all out of love for teaching.
I did receive a generic letter from the White House today. In tutoring a few months back we wrote letters to the President. Here was his response to me:

The white house attached some pictures of their family (including their dogs), which I posted on a classroom wall. Hopefully I’ll be able to write the next President and get a family picture of the Pauls.

Glee was on point this week. This Air Supply song was one of my faves in high school.
I’m all out of love, I’m so lost without you
I know you were right believing for so long
I’m all out of love, what am I without you?
I cant be too late, I know I was so wrong
