Valentine’s Day week continues with a song from the Pitch Perfect soundtrack.
I saw Pitch Perfect with my third ex (Kim). I think the problem with dating your friends is knowing the potential hazard of it ruining the friendship forever. In this case, we mended our friendship slightly but it will never be the same. I’m actually on good terms with all of my exes up until this point. The memories shared were good, though short. She had the decency to end the relationship early knowing it wasn’t really working out for her, and I actually applaud her for doing that (rather than dragging it out). Of course, that doesn’t mean she didn’t miss me, or vice versa.
Soccer tryouts were today. I told the 53 kids trying out that “Congratulations, you made the top 53”. In the process of doing 5 different stations with them (dribbling, passing, scoring, speed, and scrimmage), I was able to assess their abilities and create a team of 16. I’m sure the rejected ones will be sad they didn’t make it, but I hope them the best in their future endeavors. The hard part will choosing students’ positions and winning the games. I’m still getting used to being called “Coach Tran”. I’m sure in the end they’ll miss me when I’m gone like everybody else in the world.

PS: I also like the Gun version.
When I’m gone, when I’m gone
You’re gonna miss me when I’m gone
You’re gonna miss me by my walk
You’re gonna miss me by my talk, oh
You’re gonna miss me when I’m gone
