As the winter winds blew in my face during soccer practice, I felt a small sense of achievement. To be honest though I’m not exactly the greatest coach in the world (or even close), but I try my best.
After a long day of “Graffiti Wall” Tag and Jeopardy in the classroom, I bought five boxes of Samoas (technically named Caramel Delites) from one of my Girl Scout students.

I recruited a bunch of random ethnic students to play my team (inappropriately nicknamed Team Mexico). Team Mexico played Team USA and pretty much owned them, so I mixed up the teams and had them play another 30-minute scrimmage which resulted in a 3-2 scoring. After going back to the classroom we enjoyed some pizza while having a small election for the team captain (congrats Iggy!).
Tuesday will be the true test of my coaching skills when they play their first game ever.
And my head told my heart
“Let love grow”
But my heart told my head
“This time no
This time no”
