525,600 minutes. That is how many minutes there are in a given year. Every year plays an integral part in shaping who we become as individuals.
86,400 seconds. That is how many seconds there are in a given day. If we TRULY want to embrace the role we play in this world, we have to live each day as if it was really our last.
I went hiking today in Santa Anita, catching up with some old friends, and thoroughly enjoying nature. It is something I need to do more often (at some point I want to visit all of the National Parks in the United States).

Death is tragic. And yet, death can hit at any point in time. Just today, I passed by an accident on the freeway that stalled four lanes because a car caught on fire after a collision.

It probably hit even closer to home knowing that I have luckily survived three huge accidents already in my life. It makes me WANT to embrace life more, and try to live a meaningful life meant to help the people around me.
And so, I went home, and spent some quality time with family, which obviously included washing my car. I plan on taking my parents on a trip to San Francisco in October for a “family outing” and a much deserved vacation (for them). I later went to a teacher supply store to look for posters for my classroom. Instead of buying I opted to go home and instead purchase posters online (which I did).

Later that day, I cherished the remaining 26,400 seconds of my day by going to Roasting Water with my sister (and brother-in-law) and eagerly waiting for my sister to return home from Oregon. If every second counts on a clock that’s ticking, we have to live like we’re dying.
Yeah, we gotta start
Looking at the hands of the time we’ve been given
If this is all we got and we gotta start thinking
If every second counts on a clock that’s ticking
Gotta live like we’re dyingWe only got 86,400 seconds in a day to
Turn it all around or to throw it all away
We gotta tell them that we love them
While we got the chance to say
Gotta live like we’re dying
