Today was probably my favorite day of new teacher “training” so far. Besides the morning council which I’m increasingly becoming more fond of, the afternoon scavenger hunt allowed us the opportunities to explore Griffin Park (as well as ride a Merry Go Round).
For our “unique” photo, we decided to position our bodies in a way to form a “star” in our group [to represent Bright Stars]. I’m glad to know I will be working with great coworkers who are all stars in their own ways. All of the stars will keep me grounded in my new home.
Later, I saw a rather fascinating political figure or “star” of the moment – Bernie Sanders. At his rally at USC he was able to capture an audience of 27,000 people. Although I don’t completely agree with all of his views, I truly see him as a Populist candidate and hopes he wins the Democratic nomination over Hillary. I agree with him most strongly on his opposition towards the bank bailouts, foreign wars, and a need for criminal justice reform.
So open your eyes and see
The way our horizons meet
And all of the lights will lead
Into the night with me
And I know these scars will bleed
But both of our hearts believe
All of these stars will guide us home
