I see fire in the form of passion in the eyes of my fellow History Cadres as they worked diligently on their “performance tasks” today. It was mostly useful, but I’m hopeful that at some point we will have the ability to set up our classrooms (and began planning for the year ahead).
What I will miss about these PD’s are the hour long lunches, as well as some of the delicious food provided so far (pizza, The Habit Burger, and some organic sandwich place). I took a walk with my fellow Technology teachers today which was nice. I remember last year I barely had any time to eat having to help kids at lunch or call their parents for disciplinary issues.

As I trekked across my neighborhood today on my evening run, I came across a variety of USC Bus Stop signs. I will use them if I ever need to go to campus for any reason in the future. What I find particularly fascinating is that there are random “security watch people” standing around each block. They’re not actually security guards but they’re trained to report if they see anything suspicious. It of course makes me feel much more comfortable to run around the neighborhood as a direct result.

At the end of the day I will see continue to “see fire” in the passion I have for teaching. If it ever goes away it will be a disservice to my students and I will ultimately have to pursue another path.
Now I see fire
Inside the mountain
I see fire
Burning the trees
I see fire
Hollowing souls
I see fire
Blood in the breeze
And I hope that you remember me
