Another day, and I’m EXHAUSTED.
It was the first professional development day since my start at Rise – meaning that there were no students today. I had to trek all the way over to the Valley at Valor Academy Middle School, which was a really nice campus – complete with grass and air conditioning! The lack of parking meant all the cars had to tandem park with my carpool buddy of course blocking a bunch of cars towards the day’s end, so much so that they had to blast on the speakers for him to move his car (much like the first week of training).
It of course didn’t matter. All I wanted was some great company with co-workers which I did. Was the PD meaningful? Not entirely. However, quality time with some of the best people was! All I wanted was to work with people who care – and this group of people clearly do care about the students, so much so that they are going to get overworked over it.
At the end of the day, all I wanted was to lounge around and watch Netflix for my first relaxing Friday night in months. š
