The whole entire mantra of my time at Earl Warren College at UCSD was striking to “live a life in balance”. The definition of this would ultimately be different depending on whom you ask.
The first balance I aimed for this weekend was quality time with both friends, and family which I successfully achieved.

The first weekend of the year comprised of spending time with family and friends in a variety of different settings namely:
1. Pechanga with the family! It was the first family adventure of the year, which resulted in us ultimately losing a ton of our money. I lost a grand total of $20, but my greed made me lose out on what would have been a net gain of $40.
2. Korean Pho and Thai Food with the parents. I didn’t think it was that great, but the dumplings inside the soup were pretty decent.

3. Seven Leaves with a friend. She’s not quite nearly as ratchet as I would have liked, but it was still a decent outing.
4. Boiling Point followed by boardgames with some lovely friends. My favorite game Loaded Questions got bombarded with overly promiscuous answers, resulting in us playing a more strategic game in the form of Hanabi. We actually won as a team playing twice, which was super surprising in my opinion, having never won before.

These activities filled up my first two days of 2016. I’m hoping the rest of the year continues on a positive note.
More balancing to come later.
