Gotta Catch’ Em All

This summer has been relaxing, but not too relaxing. I want to try to maintain a healthy balance of both work and play, and subsequently have done so.

Summer camp is just that – summer camp. I really don’t consider it a real job, since I’m entertained nearly most of the time, and don’t really ever get stressed out over it (in comparison to actual teaching, which is full of heavy emotions).

Outside of camp though I have preoccupied myself with two endeavors that seemingly contrast one another, but are more alike than one I would think. On the educational side of things, I am pursuing my master’s online through Concordia University, which takes a significant chunk of my free time. I feel like the program that I just started is pretty easy, although it might be very time consuming. I’ve always been good at school though, so it’s no surprise a Master’s Program wouldn’t be too difficult on my stress levels.

To even it out, I’ve been playing the hot-new craze or fad known as Pokemon Go. Have a look at my current Pokemon below:

I grew up watching Pokemon, so I have an odd fascination with the original 151 Pokemon. I can only imagine in 3 weeks when I have to go back to work I won’t have much time to dedicate to this game. Until then though, I’m going to be a Pokemon Master to catch them all.

Noticeable places I have found Pokemon include Garden Grove Park (which is always full of Asians at any time of the day), Downtown Disney, and Seaside (which has lots of water Pokemon).

I’ve taken over a few gyms, but it hasn’t really been held for that long, most noticeably being Phil’s BBQ of course.

Until I get bored of the game, or too busy to play it, you’ll see me draining the battery life of my phone on a nearly daily basis.
