Back in Garden Grove, the traditional Tran family TET celebration started with of course the exchanging of red envelopes, a custom in Vietnamese tradition. Now that I am older though, the roles have been reversed and I am the one giving money instead of receiving.
I had fun afterwards trolling my niece, nephew, and a puppy.

Later, at night, we witnessed some beautiful lights and beautiful sights at UVSA’s Tet Festival. With my family, we mostly took pictures, ate over-priced “fair” food (they ran out of Bulgogi fries), and played some overpriced games.

Even though it really wasn’t that great, it was nice going out with the entire family again. Here’s to hoping it happens again soon.

Some people try to bring you down
Make you believe that you never leave the ground
I’m break it free I’m let it go
I’m gonna shine till the everybody knows
