Day 1: Memento

We are now entering Phase 6 of Project 26. For the next 26 days, I will making movie references to 26 of my favorite movies of all time, and seeing how they parallel my life journey. We start with Memento, and just like how that movie is structured, this post will be written from the end of the day to the beginning.

The day ended with me sleeping.

At 7:30PM roughly, I finished editing the growth journey of my 2 years here at Rise. Watch below:

I went home from work around 6 PM.

I had fun filming the video with students right after school, where we did many random scenes, which ended up being hilarious. I took them to Yogurtland afterwards because they helped me out.

At 2:00PM I had my 4th period class. They always know how to make me laugh, so I don’t take myself too seriously in that class.

At 1:00PM I had my 1st period class, and they were alright for the most part.

At 12:00PM I had my advisory. They knew I was super upset when they came into Advisory, so they subsequently read quietly (for one of the first times).

At 11:00AM I had my worst class. Period 5 just sucks the air out of me. I had to give up on the activity at the end of the period cause too many kids were being obnoxious. I just had kids put their heads down, but some of them continued to push the boundaries. Students like those make me question why I teach.

At 10:00AM I had my 6th period class, who is my loudest class. I like them for the most part though.

At 8:40 roughly I had my meeting with my mentor teacher, who helped me walk me through the final steps of the teacher induction process.

At 7:45 I started class, incorporating my okay lesson on Galileo. We played “To tell the truth” at the end of the period with them having to guess who the real Galileo was. It was really obvious (if they were paying attention).

At 6:00 AM I woke up, showered, and got to work.

That brings us to 12:00AM, where I was sleeping like a little baby.
