Day 9: Champagne

We stopped by a few cities today as we departed Belgium in time for our third European country of France.

We first went to the city of Lille where we got some French baguettes, got drenched in the rain, and ate some French crepes.

To be honest the French baguettes were pretty hard and crusty, and subsequently receive one star. The crepe was pretty good, but tasted too chocolatey so that gets only 3 stars. The rain was a nice touch.

On the bus ride we explored various topics which included my Asian heritage, some information about secret Russian spies, and other bogus conversations. They were pretty entertaining though, despite how funny it all was.

Next we went to the city of Champagne, where we obviously explored a champagne factory, and then drank some champagne. I felt like Charlie in Charlie and the chocolate factory, even though I didn’t inherit the factory by the end of the tour.

The champagne was pretty decent and receives 3 stars, which made it taste even better on an empty stomach.

Finally, we checked into our last city of Reims where we explored another old cathedral, and then ate some pork chops for dinner. To be honest it was pretty gross, and I was relatively disappointed, rating the salad itself 0 stars, and the meal itself 1 star, for an average of half a star.

The rain itself made the day a little disappointing, and I’ll have to say it’s probably the worst day so far of the trip (considering the inadequate food). The champagne and crapes were definitely the highlight of the whole experience thus far in France. Bonjour little dogs. Merci Merci for reading.
