Day 15: Florence

In today and tonight’s Italy exploration. Many things transpired. The morning obviously started with a  4-hour coach trek from Milan to Florence. Traveling can be tiring in many ways, but the nap and karaoke sessions in between each trip help make the course of the overall journey feel shorter.

In the afternoon we checked into our supposedly 4-star hotels (2-star really because there isn’t free wifi), before trekking around the city of Florence. We stopped for some pizza lunch which was quite tasty, but also kind of average in many ways. 3 Stars. The Gelato was even better after quite a sizzling appetizer. 4 Stars.

We had a tour guide show us difference parts of local Italy which smoothed things over a little. I felt a little like I was in history class as I learned the history of different parts of local Florence, which I hope to incorporate into my Renaissance unit next year.

After we got back, we went upstairs for a bit to enjoy some much needed wine before some dinner. I finally got my Italian Spaghetti, and I’m not sure if it was delicious or not, but it was quite filling. Some people did laundry in the process, while others didn’t. 3 Stars for sure.

I hope everyone knows that I’m doing well, and I’m enjoying ultimately the company I’m with on the trip. Despite the cost, I definitely think the journey was well worth it given the connections and adventures I’ve made along the way.
