With my family now living in the United States, we lived in a 2-bedroom apartment, my 2 parents and my 5 siblings (8 total) in Stanton. It didn’t seem like such a cramped place, but I was also 3 at the time, so I have no sense of what that would have felt like.

I don’t necessarily remember the way we divided up the family, but I’m pretty sure the younger kids were in one bedroom while the older ones were in the other with my mom and dad.

Anyway, the apartment complex wasn’t anything fancy, but the nice part was there were lots of sidewalks to go outside and play on (adequate for children, that’s for sure).

There also happened to be a playground nearby, that me and my sisters often played on. Such good memories. I should note that I didn’t do most of this at three, but rather for most of my childhood while living in Stanton.

Realistically what ended up happened was me staying at home most of the time, eating hot Cheetos, and watching television. While my parents were hard at work sewing endless hours of the day and night under less-than-stellar conditions, we entertained ourselves through television and what-not.

At least there was color, I guess. Hah.

The Lion King was #1 in movies in 2014, also one of my favorite movies. Although the part where the dad dies get to me, every time. How sad. Streets of Philadelphia was the number one song. Shrug. I’ve never even heard of it.
