For the next 26 days, in loving memory of all I’ve been taught thus far my life, I will be profiling the 26 most inspirational teachers I have ever met.
We start with this white guy, who coincidentally came over after work today to do laundry.

Being that this was the first actual co-worker I met outside of my interview, at HR Orientation (what a bore), it would seemingly fit to start with our adventures. We are now in year 3 at Rise Kohyang Middle School, and it’s been quite a whirlwind of emotions.
Our hazing phase was terrible, with our essentials “lead” bullying us into submission as we co-planned a technology curriculum from scratch. I still remember all the useless lessons that we did. In the process, we bonded with our “department head” Nathaniel Hanna until he ultimately left the school. Rest in peace.

When he left, all hope of our department being self-sufficient for the rest of the year seemed impossible. We made due with what we had though, my favorite memory of course our chance at relaxing at Mickey’s Halloween Party.

Eventually a replacement for Nathaniel came our freshmen year, which allowed our technology curriculum to “thrive”. Maybe.

That was, until I left the Technology department to solely teach history. Kyle was better off without me though, but we still had the innate ability to bond over giving our 7th graders an enriching experience last year.
This year, we’re in different departments, and different grade levels, and Kyle is now left on a Technology Island of his own. With that being said, through all our experiences in the trenches, we were able to bond and enrich our life experiences. Who knows where we’ll be a year, 5 years, or even 10 years from now? Yet the memories we made now will forever last in my memory.
Rest in Peace Nathaniel Hanna.
Rest in Peace Technology Department 2017? 2018? 2017-2018?
