One of the most unsung heroes at our school is Mr. B, the Dean of Culture.

Needless to say, I am not very envious of his job, having to deal with ultimately the most difficult of students at our school (and their difficult parents).

I have always looked up to him since the minute I entered the school, seeing the way where he is simultaneously able to balance good management and control of students, while still being able to engage and establish a relationship with them.  And even though the solution offered on how to deal with a particular student my first year at Rise didn’t really work out, I appreciated the effort and the careful time placed on dealing with that situation.

I hope he doesn’t get too burnt out, doesn’t get too sick, and realize what a valuable asset he is to our school. Our trip in Las Vegas and Utah would not nearly have gone as smoothly without his brilliant leadership. Even though I am mad at fraternities for rejecting me, I would have been more than happy to have had him as a frat brother, and I saw firsthand in Vegas how good he is at taking care of people in particular.

And even though times can get stressful, the school quite simply would fail without his help. I guess out of all the circles I’ve done in my life, he has definitely been the best at facilitating them too. Even the ones where I end up breaking valuable souvenirs from South America of the acting Principal at the time.

Here’s him reaching for the stars and achieving his goals of defeating demonic children.

Here’s a picture of him helping a constantly confused student in the hallway.

I hope he gets more balance this year and is able to interact with not only the bad children, but the angelic ones as well. Because I knew him, I have been changed for good, adapting some of his style intertwined with my own.
