Day 12: GOP Tax Plan

I try to avoid talking about politics as much as possible on this blog, because of the increasing polarization on the Internet when anything is brought up. Too often people (both Democrats and Republicans) portray the “other side” as evil or immoral, when really, they just have a difference in opinion on how to make things better for society. As a libertarian, I’d like to think that the truth really lies somewhere in the middle.

The GOP Tax plan just passed, and amidst all all the political rhetoric, it is a net positive for most people because it results in tax cuts across the board. Using a few calculators on the Internet, these are the tax cuts I will encounter in the future:

If it were up to me of course, I’d get rid of taxes altogether because I find it inherently immoral. But that will never happen. As much as corporations will seemingly benefit from these tax cuts, so too will all the hard workers of the world who have to pay the government money each and every year.
