How to almost die of heat stroke at the Strawberry Festival

Every single time I go to the Strawberry Festival I feel underwhelmed and make some snide remark where I say “I’m never going back to that crap again”. I can’t say things were any different this year, but the situation was a little different.

Being that I went to a Cherry Blossom Festival earlier this year that was a scam, my expectations were lower than I would have otherwise expected. That being said, there were strawberries here! Plenty of overpriced strawberries.

Here’s some things that obviously made my visit uncomfortable.

  1. It was blazing hot. Obviously this is not the fault of the Strawberry Festival organizers, but still…. I was improperly dressed wearing jeans and whatnot.
  2. No parking. No parking meant more walking from the car to the destination of the festival, which took approximately 10 minutes. Not that far of a distance but with the amount of humidity in the air, it wasn’t pleasant.
  3. Eating Blazing Hot Pot Right before. Being that we ate hot soup in the hour before actually arriving to the Festival we were already internally at a higher temperature than we would have been comfortable with.
  4. Overcrowding. It was a little hard to move around the festival with the amount of people there. These picture does not do it justice.

That being said, I didn’t actually die of heat stroke and left shortly thereafter. I don’t think the strawberry festival is meant for people like me anyway. Seeing the amount of couples and families (and kids) around I think it’s more appropriate for a place to take a date, or your kids if you have any. That being said, I would never take someone to this festival, because she’d probably be equally as disappointing as me.

We’ll see. I’ll probably be back next year somehow.
