Annie Yu is a very optimistic person about life. In all my conversations with her, it is pretty obvious she leads towards the “glass being half full”, as opposed to being half empty in life.
I had multiple key insights tonight as we went to Arclight Hollywood to watch a sneak preview of the M. Night Shyamalan’s Glass, namely through conversations, that:
- Quality over quantity: In her opinion, it is better to have less friends and be close to them, than to have more friends. I want both.
- Relationships with children: we both agree it’s pretty difficult to develop relationships with kids, even if they are our niece and nephew. Personally, I would say that I get along better with kids when they’re in 6th grade and above. And once they’re adults, I continue to struggle to understand them.
- She has multiple recipes she gravitates towards while cooking, which includes chicken soy sauce, spicy tofu, among other things.
- We both should watch more Anime if we continue volunteering for anime expo.
- We listened to the “Dear Evan Hansen” soundtrack on the way back, and I hope to see it one day, even though it’s pretty expensive.

Even though the movie screening was a bust because they overfilled the theater with press credentials and had no room left for us, it was worthwhile for the conversations and company. I signed a Non-Disclosure agreement anyway so I wouldn’t be able to blog about it on here anyway. Plus, I’m pretty tired from San Diego still and should probably seek to remedy myself through much needed R&R.
