Day 41: Melody Nguyen’s Recipe for Not Falling In Love

Melody Nguyen has a unique recipe for not falling in love. It of course includes but is not limited to:

  • Don’t get to know the person.
  • Don’t try to fix their problems.
  • Don’t communicate with them or think about them all the time.
  • Do think about their flaws and shortcomings as much as possible.

In all reality, life is sometimes a struggle and co-dependency is a real issue for many people, especially for those that didn’t get the proper nurturing from their parents growing up. I hope that in time Melody and I will be able to fix our attachment issues to become better versions of ourselves in the future. I know she is well on her way, and I hope she achieves her goals of focusing on herself, not dating this year, and achieving true inner happiness.

Things will slowly get better as we adapt to our selective environments and focus on fixing our own inner issues and demons. It’s good to make these discoveries while young so that we are not overridden by mental health issues when we are older.

On a brief side-note, but also somewhat related, I finished the novel “13 Reasons Why”, based on of course the Netflix television series.

Hannah Baker is definitely a victim of everything that has happened to her, and I’m hoping that in the future I can help the people around me who struggle with their identity issues and feelings of loneliness in a manner that will meet the conditions of The Fray’s most popular song “How to Save a Life.”

Finally, I made quesadillas for the week: filled with peas, corn, pulled pork, and of course cheese.
