I will be forever eternally grateful to Norman Tsai. Though we haven’t talked in nearly 10 years, he was the one that introduced me to my love of BBQ – namely Phil’s BBQ.
And though we tried to duplicate the magic today at another BBQ chain (Muddle and Twist) in North Hollywood, it ultimately failed to live up to any positive expectations.
I hope Norman continues to do well living in his expensive apartment in Westwood. I’m sure it’s a step up from crashing me and Robert’s UCSD apartment in the summer of 2009. I hope he enjoys his marriage, his “new-ish” job at a bank, his free time playing Starcraft and all things work out well for him in the rest of 2019. Here’s hoping we continue to keep in touch now that we’ve rekindled our friendship.
